Physical DescriptionA World War II U.S. conservation poster. The color poster features a painted illustration depicting a farmer plowing a firebreak as a small pile of burning brush is being tended to at the center of a field. Text on the illustration states: “Plow around for safety / ~ see your firewarden / Prevent forest fires.” The artist’s facsimile signature is in the lower right corner of the illustration: “B.E. Martin.” The logo for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service is in the lower left corner.
