Physical DescriptionA handkerchief featuring a typewriter portrait of Eleanor Roosevelt. The white handkerchief has a border consisting of bands of dark brown, light brown, and green in varying thicknesses. In the center is a head and shoulders portrait of Eleanor Roosevelt created from various black typewriter characters. The maker's initials are typed along the bottom edge of the handkerchief: A.J.S.
Historical NoteThis handkerchief with a portrait of Eleanor Roosevelt, along with another one bearing a portrait of Franklin D. Roosevelt (MO 1941.3.12), was a January 26, 1940 gift from the maker, Allison J. Stafford of Newark, New Jersey.
