Roosevelt encirled by black text that reads: FOR U.S. SENATOR / FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT. A paper manufacturer's label is inserted into the reverse side.
Historical NoteIn 1914, Roosevelt ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the U.S. Senate. He was defeated soundly in the Democratic primary. This button is on display in the RISING POLITICAL STAR exhibit in the Museum’s FOUNDATIONS OF A PUBLIC LIFE gallery.”
