Physical DescriptionA model of a Lele (possibly an African Dhow) sailing boat. The wooden boat has a plain hull with white, black, yellow, and red trim. The boat comes with fabric sails which are currently dismantled, as well as three fork-shaped oars and one plain oar.
Historical NoteThis model was presented to President Roosevelt by Captain W. N. Sullivan, Headquarters Central African Wing, Air Transport Command, Miami, Florida on March 25, 1944.

Custodial History NoteDeposited at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Franklin D. Roosevelt on November 22, 1944. It was donated as a bequest of FDR to the Library in 1947.
