Physical DescriptionAn admission ticket for the June 1936 Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio with a punched hole on the right side.

On the front of the cream-colored ticket is an engraved profile portrait of assassinated U.S. president William McKinley. Printed text reads, “REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION / Cleaveland, June 1936 / GOOD ALL DAYS AND ANY SESSION / ASST. SERGEANT-AT-ARMS / ANY ENTRANCE EXCEPT STAGE,” and has the facsimile signature of the Republican National Committee Chairman, Henry Fletcher.

On the opposite side of the ticket is an illustration of a stars and stripes patriotic shield at the center of an intricate design.

The maker’s name, “American Bank Note Company,” is printed on the front and reverse of the ticket.
