Physical DescriptionA wastepaper basket made from an old brown leather hat box. The interior is lined with papier-mâchéd $100 and $200 bond notes of the City of Philadelphia. Part of a brass lock is located on the exterior front.
Historical NoteThis wastepaper basket was presented to FDR by his daughter-in-law, Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt, Jr. (Ethel du Pont). It is on display in FDR'S PRIVATE STUDY in the Permanent Exhibit.
