Physical DescriptionA round pinback campaign button. The light orange button has an illustration of the Liberty Bell in yellow at the center. Blue and white text over and under the bell reads: REPEAL / 18th / AMENDMENT. The manufacturer's information is printed along the rim.
Historical NoteThe 18th Amendment to the Constitution, ratified in 1919, banned the manufacture and sale of intoxicating liquors. Repeal of the amendment was a major plank in the Democratic Party’s 1932 platform and was promoted in campaign buttons and paraphernalia.
