Historical NoteThese socks accompanied a pair of baby shoes (see MO 1947.84.38) that came in an envelope with a handwritten note by Franklin D. Roosevelt's mother, Sara, that reads: Baby Franklin's first shoes worn / from 5 months until 9 months / old - Oct. 30th 1882. S.D.R.
