Physical DescriptionA cast copper alloy paperweight in the form of an eagle perched on a rock-shaped base. The wings of the eagle were cast as a single unit and soldered in place to the body. Inscribed on the base: F. D. ROOSEVELT / ASST. SEC. / OF THE / NAVY.

The eagle sits on a small, square non-original wood base with a clear coat.
Historical NoteThis eagle paperweight was given to FDR while he was serving as Assistant Secretary of the Navy. It is on display on the desk in FDR'S PRIVATE STUDY in the Permanent Exhibit.
