Physical DescriptionA 19th century watercolor gouache painting of Marksburg Castle in Germany's Upper Middle Rhine Valley. On the right side of the color scene is the castle, perched on top of a high hill, with the town of Braubach located at the foot of the hill. Fronting the town and the hill is the Rhine River on which are seen several small sailing vessels and a rowboat. On a road curving along the right side of the river is a man with two horses. There is no artist's information.

The painting comes with a 3" gilt frame (on display).
