Physical DescriptionA pair of two, nearly identical ostrich figurines made with burrs (seed pods), pipe cleaners, and acorns. The faces are drawn on and have angry expressions. On the back of each acorn head are the initials ARK.
Historical NoteFDR kept these novelty figurines on his Oval Office desk. They are on display in the FDR’S OVAL OFFICE DESK exhibit in the Museum’s APRIL 12, 1945 gallery.
