Physical DescriptionA small wooden model of a sailing ketch. The wooden boat has a green hull, two masts, and no sails. The model is fixed to a base and enclosed in a wood and glass case. A small sign mounted within the case reads: A / Sailing Model / of / Dog Star.
Historical NoteThis model was presented to President Roosevelt by the maker, Fitzgerald Pier dal Piaz, of Los Angeles, California. The DOG STAR was designed by Philip L. Rhodes of New York for Robert Parsons of Providence, Rhode Island.
