Physical DescriptionA flat wood carving of a donkey on a rectangular wooden base. The face of the donkey is painted with an animated expression. The wood used for the piece is from a wooden box. Inscribed on the donkey finished side: DEMOCRAT/ 1932. Inscribed on the base: MISSOURI.
Historical NoteThis donkey carving was on FDR's Oval Office desk from the earliest days of his presidency. It is on display in the FDR’S OVAL OFFICE DESK exhibit in the Museum’s APRIL 12, 1945 gallery.Additional Details
