Physical Descriptiona) A white and tan rabbit's foot with metal mounting.
b) A small, circular box with lid, both covered in white grosgrain fabric. The interior of the box is lined in white satin.
c) A handwritten note in pencil, by Margaret Suckley, inserted into the cover of the box (b) that reads: This 'rabbit's foot' was carried by F.D.R. through his first campaign to the presidency. He gave it to me for the 2nd in 1936! MS.
Historical NoteFDR carried this rabbit’s foot charm during the 1932 campaign for good luck. It is on display in the 1932 ELECTION CAMPAIGN exhibit in the Museum’s THE PROMISE OF CHANGE gallery.b) A small, circular box with lid, both covered in white grosgrain fabric.
