Physical DescriptionA small china plate with a wide gilt border and a black and white portrait of Franklin D. Roosevelt baked under the glaze at the center. Trademarked on the reverse: K & A Krautheim, Selb, Bavaria.
Historical NoteFranklin Roosevelt loomed large in American popular culture. Elected to four terms as America’s president, he became a familiar presence on the radio and in newspapers, magazines, and newsreels. Inevitably, his well-known likeness appeared on products such as this plate. It is on display in the ROOSEVELT IN POP CULTURE exhibit in the Museum’s NEW DEAL gallery.Additional Details
