Physical DescriptionA model of a racing sloop hull painted with broad bands of red, yellow, and green. Mounted to the surface of the deck is a wooden plaque inscribed: To / President / Franklin D. / Roosevelt / from / Salem St. W.P.A. / Recreation Center / Worcester, Mass. The model sits in a custom made wood stand with a wave design painted in red, white, and green.
Historical NoteThis model was created by workers at the Salem Street Works Progress Administration (WPA) Recreation Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. It was presented to President Roosevelt on June 28, 1941.
