Physical DescriptionA white envelope bearing a violet U.S. 1937 3¢ Statue of Kamehameha I, Hawaii U.S. Territories Issue stamp (Scott 799). On the left side of the envelope is a brown and silver tropical-themed thermographic cachet, titled United States Territories First Day Issue, with the illustration of a beach and the ocean with planes visible in the sky and ships in the water. Set into the bottom of the illustration is a small black and white photographic snapshot of the U.S. Naval Hospital below which is the caption: "PARADISE OF THE PACIFIC" / PEARL HARBOR, HAWAII.

The envelope is addressed in typed lettering to: President Franklin Roosevelt /1600 Pennsylvania Ave. / Washington, D.C. It is postmarked Honolulu, Hawaii, October 18, 1937 with a FIRST DAY OF ISSUE cancellation. Signed on the reverse of the envelope in ink: W. G. Crosby.
Historical NoteAn admirer mailed President Roosevelt this stamp cover from the Pearl Harbor Naval Station one month before the December 7, 1941 Japanese attack.
