Physical DescriptionA crocheted needlework piece featuring a red, white, and blue 48-star American flag on a flagpole against a lighter blue background representing the sky. The maker’s name is embroidered in white script lettering in the lower right corner of the piece: "Frieda Sonnenschein".
The piece is glazed and framed in a 7/8” gold-painted wood frame. Adhered to the reverse of the frame is a small sticker with “C-1-g” typed on it.

Custodial History NoteDeposited at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Franklin D. Roosevelt on July 20, 1940. It was donated as a bequest of FDR to the Library in 1947.
