Physical DescriptionA black and white linoleum cut print depicting a barefoot girl carrying a bundle of laundry on her head. The title and artist's signature is in pencil below the image in the lower left: Wash Girl / Samuel J. Brown. The impression number is written in pencil below the image in the lower right: 17/20.
Historical NoteThis print was created for the Pennsylvania Art Project, Federal Art Project, Works Progress Administration. The print will be on display on a rotational basis in the FDR Library's special exhibition, BLACK AMERICANS, CIVIL RIGHTS, AND THE ROOSEVELTS, 1932-1962.
