Physical DescriptionA small world globe made of gold and mounted on a gold-covered stand and base. The globe's semi-meridian is inscribed with the message: TO FRANKLIN DELANO ROOSEVELT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF / AMERICA FROM HAILE SELASSIE EMPEROR FEBRUARY, 14, 1945.
Historical NoteEmperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia gave Franklin D. Roosevelt this globe when the two rulers met on February 13, 1945 aboard a U.S. Navy ship on the Great Bitter Lake in Egypt.Additional Details
