Physical DescriptionAn automobile lap robe with the Seal of the President of the United States. The taupe colored, fulled wool blanket has machine stitched edges and the Presidential Seal embroidered in color in one corner. The reverse of the lap robe is lined with faux fur with a deep, silk cut pile. Attached to one corner of the reverse is the manufacturer's tag: [company emblems] Motor Robe / SUPPLIED BY / CADILLAC MOTOR CAR CO. / DETROIT, MICH.
Historical NoteThis presidential lap robe was used for outings in the White House's 16-cylinder Cadillac automobile, including Franklin D. Roosevelt's third inauguration which took place in Washington, DC on January 20, 1941.Additional Details
