Physical DescriptionA molded plastic plaque featuring a right-facing profile portrait in relief of George Washington’s head with a reproduction of his signature below it. A quote in relief at the bottom of the plaque reads: “FIRST IN WAR, FIRST IN PEACE, AND FIRST IN THE HEARTS OF HIS COUNTRYMEN."
The reverse side of the plaque is lined with green felt.
Historical NoteThe quote on this George Washington commemorative plaque is from a eulogy written by Representative Henry “Light Horse Harry” Lee (1756-1818), a close friend of George Washington.
