Physical DescriptionA round pinback button from Wendell Willkie's campaign. At the center of the white button is a blue illustration of a fighter plane with a red star within a white circle on the tip of each wing. The name "WILLKIE" in white runs across the body of the plane. Red and white text above and below the plane reads: WINGS / for / AMERICA. The manufacturer's information and several union bugs are printed on the rim of the button.
Historical NoteWendell Willkie was the Republican Party’s presidential candidate in 1940.
