Physical DescriptionA black and white lithographic print depicting an arrangement of highway and railroad bridges, telephone poles, and railroad crossing gates. The artist's facsimile signature (J. Gross. B.) forms part of the image at the bottom. The title is in pencil below the image in the lower left: Gates and Bridges. Typed below the image, center: FEDERAL ART PROJECT NO. 1. The artist's pencil signature is below the image in the lower right: Jolan Gross Bettelheim.
Historical NoteThis print was created for the Ohio Art Project, Federal Art Project, Works Progress Administration. It was displayed at the New York World's Fair in 1940.
