Physical DescriptionA round pinback button from Franklin Roosevelt's campaign. On a red background is a white keystone shape with a white horizontal band below it. Printed on the white portions is the red silhouette illustration of a rooster and blue text that reads: JUST / ROOSEVELT. The manufacturer’s information is on the reverse of the button. Hanging from the button is a small, gray-painted metal donkey on a piece of black and white string.
Historical NoteMaximilian E. Huhnke of Chicago, Illinois received this button at the 1940 Democratic National Convention. He sent it to President Roosevelt in December of that year.
Additional Details
Custodial History NoteDeposited at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Franklin D. Roosevelt on December 20, 1940. It was donated as a bequest of FDR to the Library in 1947.
