Physical DescriptionA small pipe with the stem and bowl carved from a very hard wood. The bowl has been designed to resemble the head of Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Historical NoteThis portrait pipe was sent to FDR by employees at the Minneapolis (Minnesota) Handicraft Project, Works Progress Administration (WPA). It is on display in the NEW DEAL ARTWORKS exhibit in the Museum’s NEW DEAL gallery.

Custodial History NoteDeposited at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Franklin D. Roosevelt on March 1, 1941. It was formally donated to the FDR Library in 1947 through FDR's Estate.
