Physical DescriptionA bronze, front-facing head of Eleanor Roosevelt (casting No. 1) on a black, cube-shaped stone base. The artist's name is inscribed on the reverse of the bust: © VICTOR LAMKAY 1963. Attached to the front of the base is a small brass plaque with an inscription that reads: ANNA ELEANOR ROOSEVELT / BY / VICTOR LAMKAY / GIFT OF DR. & MRS. A. DAVID GUREWITSCH.
Historical NoteThis bust of Eleanor Roosevelt was sculpted by Victor Lamkay from photographs of Mrs. Roosevelt. It was presented to the FDR Library by Dr. and Mrs. A. David Gurewitsch.
