Historical NoteThis doily was found in a needlework bag used by Eleanor Roosevelt (see MO 1971.16), along with several other items it is believed she was working on before she died. Mrs. Roosevelt enjoyed knitting and embroidering for family and friends. The "EGD" on the doily may stand for Edna and Dr. David Gurewitsch who were close personal friends of hers, in addition to Dr. Gurewitsch being her personal physician.Additional Details
