Physical DescriptionA painting of "Springwood," the Roosevelt home in Hyde Park, New York, before it was remodeled in 1915. It depicts a gray-brown two story house with red trim. On the right side of the house is a series of lower extensions, and a three story tower is on the left. Ivy is seen growing around the columns of the wrap around porch. The house is bordered by trees and fronted by a lawn. The painting is signed by the artist in the lower right corner: I.V. Lounsbery. The painting is not dated, but was likely done before 1900. Handwritten in ink on the reverse of the canvas: Springwood / Hyde Park, N.Y.
The painting is framed in an ornate 2" gilt frame.
