Stamped on the reverse: WPA / Handcraft / Project / #8601 / Milwaukee / Wisconsin / Sponsored by / Milwaukee / County / and / Milwaukee / State / Teachers / College.
Historical NoteThis wall hanging was created for the Milwaukee Handicraft Project, Federal Art Project, Works Progress Administration. This is one of three (MO 1970-117a-c) Florence Kawa block printed wall hangings found among Eleanor Roosevelt’s belongings after Mrs. Roosevelt’s death.
