Physical DescriptionA 14k gold lapel stud featuring the 1939 New York World's Fair seal design. The design consists of a stylized blue line drawing of the Statue of Liberty's head and raised arm with torch along with the date "1939."
On the reverse, the maker's information is stamped on the stud’s shank: "CARTIER 14K." The number “827” is inscribed on the reverse the stud.
Historical NoteThe 1939 New York World's Fair, located in Flushing Meadows, New York, opened on April 30, 1939 and closed on October 27, 1940. President Franklin D. Roosevelt gave the opening speech in person which was televised throughout the Fair. His address was the first time that a president appeared on television.On the reverse, the maker's information is stamped on the stud’s shank: "CARTIER 14K." The number “827” is inscribed on the reverse the stud.
