Physical DescriptionA carved and colored wooden caricature portrait of Franklin D. Roosevelt in the form of a right-facing profile of his head. He is sporting a high collar and a pair of pince-nez glasses. The caricature is set into an open circle formed from a band of silver-colored metal that sits on an oval, two-tiered wooden base, painted black, with a metal band wrapped around each tier.

Carved black text on the flat reverse side of the caricature reads: MADE / IN / MEXICO.
Historical NoteThis carved caricature was sent to FDR by Carlos J. Contreras of San Antonio, Texas.

Custodial History NoteDeposited at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1942. It was donated as a bequest of FDR to the Library in 1947.
