Physical Descriptiona) A poster with black and red text reading: THE MEMBERS OF THE / HARVARD FRESHMAN / GLEE CLUB / WILL MEET TO-NIGHT AT 7.30 O'CLOCK. / 1904. The lower right corner has the original ink signatures of the club's President, Secretary (Franklin D. Roosevelt), and Leader. A red and white ribbon is placed diagonally over the upper right corner.
b) The poster comes with a 1 1/2" dark-stained rustic wood frame (currently stored separately).
Historical NoteThis poster advertised a 1904 meeting of the Harvard Glee Club. FDR served as secretary of the club during his undergraduate years at Harvard College. A facsimile of this poster is on display in the EDUCATION exhibit in the Museum’s FOUNDATIONS OF A PUBLIC LIFE gallery.b) The poster comes with a 1 1/2" dark-stained rustic wood frame (currently stored separately).
