Physical Descriptiona) A pewter note pad holder. Set into the header is a small, 3/8" silver-colored medallion that features a bas relief right-facing profile image of FDR's head encircled by text that reads: • PRESIDENT • FRANKLIN • D • ROOSEVELT • / HYDE • PARK • N•Y•. The manufacturer's mark is stamped into the lower right corner of the reverse of the holder: VAL-KILL.

b) A small, white paper notepad that sits in the holder (a).
Historical NoteThis notepad holder is a 1937 example of Christmas gift items produced by Val-Kill Industries for Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt to distribute. It was made by the forge metalsmith, Arnold Berge.
