Physical DescriptionA round pinback jugate campaign button. At the center of the blue button is a sepia halftone illustration of a metal lunchbox, or dinner pail, with a drinking mug mounted upside down on the top. On the front of the container are the portraits of William McKinley and Garret Hobart, along with the text: EMPLOYMENT / FOR / LABOR / A FULL DINNER BUCKET / PROSPERITY / SOUND MONEY-GOOD MARKETS. The manufacturer's information is printed on a paper insert on the reverse of the button.
Historical NoteWilliam McKinley and Garret Hobart were the Republican Party’s successful presidential and vice presidential candidates in 1896.
