Physical DescriptionA pair of round clip-on non-pierced earrings made with original ca. 1944 buttons from Franklin Roosevelt's campaign. At the center of each earring is the button, consisting of red diagonal stripes at the top and bottom and a white diagonal band at center with blue text that reads: FDR. The buttons are placed within a gold-colored metal surround. On the reverse of the earrings are metal pressure clips for attaching to earlobes.
Historical NoteRay Weiss of Brooklyn, New York, fashioned two FDR campaign buttons into this set of button earrings. She sent them to President Roosevelt as a gift in October 1944.
