Physical DescriptionA black top hat, size 7 3/8, with a black fabric hat band. The hat is covered in silk plush fabric and the interior is lined with smooth off-white silk with "Franklin Delano Roosevelt" stamped in debossed gilt letters on the interior of the flat crown. The lower section of the interior near the opening has a gray leather sweatband stitched around the circumference.
Historical NoteFranklin D. Roosevelt wore this top hat on formal occasions.
