Historical NoteIn January 1943, President Roosevelt attended the Casablanca Conference in Morocco with Winston Churchill. During the conference, the Sultan of Morocco, Sidi Mohammed, presented the President with this bracelet, one of a pair (see also MO 1943.191.2), as a gift to First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. The bracelets were once part of the Sultan’s collection of family jewels.Additional Details
Custodial History NoteLent to the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum by Eleanor Roosevelt in 1943. It was donated by Mrs. Roosevelt in December 1957.
