Physical DescriptionAn intact admission ticket for the January 20, 1941 inauguration of Franklin Roosevelt and Henry Wallace.

On the front of the lime green and white ticket is an image of the Great Seal of the United States overprinted with blue, black, and red text that reads: INAUGURATION / OF THE / PRESIDENT / AND / VICE PRESIDENT / OF THE / UNITED STATES OF AMERICA / WASHINGTON D.C. JANUARY 20, 1941 / Admit One / Tax $6.00 Exempt. The ticket is for the South Side of Pennsylvania Avenue, Stand 4, Gate 2, Section B, Row 1, Seat 20.

On the opposite side of the ticket, on a lime green, white, and blue background, are oval black and white halftone photographic headshots of FDR (left) and Wallace (right) separated by the date "1941" and the illustration of an eagle perched over a globe with a red and white striped shield in the background. On the right side of the ticket (the removable portion) is printed text that reads: In view of the / historic impor- / tance of this / Inauguration, it / is suggested that / the larger portion / of this ticket be / retained by the / purchaser as a / souvenir.
