Physical DescriptionA World War II U.S. Army conservation poster. The color poster features a graphic illustration of a human hand with visible veins and arteries. Laid diagonally over the hand is a mercury thermometer. Text at the bottom of the illustration states: “LIVES DEPEND UPON FRAGILE THERMOMETERS / STOP BREAKAGE!"

In the upper left corner of the poster is the U.S. Army Conservation Program “SAVE” logo. Small text in the bottom margin of the poster reads: “ARMY CONSERVATION PROJECT NO. 86-M-5 / U.S. GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE : 1944—O-585499.”

Printed on the reverse side of the poster are instructions for posting and distribution.
