Physical DescriptionA World War II U.S. Army conservation poster titled, "Just like the slippers back home." The green, white, gray, and black poster features a cartoon illustration of a uniformed U.S. Army soldier who has made himself a makeshift living room within the ruins of a bombed out German building. Resting comfortably in a damaged easy chair beside the remains of a fireplace, the soldier has his feet up on a stack of crates, with another crate acting as a side table. Text below the illustration reads: “SHOE CARE means FOOT COMFORT / ★ GET 'EM REPAIRED PROMPTLY / ★ APPLY DUBBIN' REGULARLY / ★ CHANGE DAILY WHEN YOU CAN."

At the bottom of the poster are the logos of the U.S. Army Conservation Program “SAVE” and the Office of the Quartermaster General. Additional small text in the bottom margin has distribution information and “ARMY CONSERVATION PROJECT NO. 152-Q-47 / U. S. GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE : 1945-O-637012."

Printed on the reverse side of the poster are instructions for posting and distribution.
