Physical DescriptionA World War II U.S. Army conservation poster titled "QUACKPOT MAINTENANCE." The upper section of the red, white, black, and gray poster features a cartoon illustration of a U.S. Army soldier in the form of a duck. He is improperly using electrical equipment causing a chaotic scene with smoke, sparks, and components flying everywhere. Nailed to the brick wall behind him is a sign that reads: “CARELESSNESS DESTROYS ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT.” The lower half of the poster has four small black and white illustrations of electrical equipment with instructional text on “The Right Way To Use Electrical Equipment.” Additional text at the bottom of the poster states: “There’s a shortage of field wire, assault wire, and dry batteries. HELP SAVE THEM!”

The poster includes the U.S. Army Conservation Program “SAVE” logo. Small text in the bottom margin of the poster has distribution instructions and “ARMY CONSERVATION PROJECT NO. 116-S-6 / U. S. GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE : 1944—O-608009.”

Printed on the reverse side of the poster are instructions for posting and distribution.
