Physical DescriptionAn ice yacht wind finder used to determine wind direction. It consists of a vertical metal rod with a metal ball approximately halfway up and a rotatable horizontal metal piece at the top to which is attached a small red fabric pennant. All the metal pieces are painted brown.
Historical NoteThis wind finder was used on one of the two 19th century iceboats named the ICICLE, both owned by John Aspinwall Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt's uncle.Additional Details
