Physical DescriptionA World War II U.S. Army conservation poster titled “GO EASY on the HOT WATER.” The green, red, black, and white poster features line drawings of a nude man in three different phases of showering. In each phase, an arrow points to the showerhead and indicates whether the water should be turned on or off at that point. The phases are: “WETTING [ON] / LATHERING [OFF] / RINSING [ON].” On the right side of the poster is a closeup drawing of a showerhead followed by the instructions: “TURN IT OFF when you’re not using it!”
Along the bottom of the poster is the U.S. Army Conservation Program “SAVE” logo and small text that reads: “OFFICE OF THE CHIEF OF ENGINEERS / U. S. GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE : 1943—O-556590 / ARMY CONSERVATION PROJECT NO. 35-E-9.”
