Physical DescriptionA World War II U.S. Army conservation poster titled “KEEP BEARINGS WRAPPED.” The yellow, black, and white poster features a cartoon illustration of series of goblin-like creatures damaging an unwrapped bearing with dust, water, sweat, and rust. The illustration is accompanied by text stating the importance of protecting bearings by keeping them wrapped followed by a numbered four-point instruction list. In the lower left quadrant of the poster is an outline drawing of a U.S. Army mechanic’s head followed by the words: “MAINTENANCE MIKE SAYS: ‘Keep Bearings Clean and Lubricated, too!’” Bold text along the bottom of the poster reads: “Bearings Are Scarce – Protect Them.”

The poster includes the U.S. Army Conservation Program “SAVE” logo. Small text along the bottom of the poster reads: “Army Conservation Project No. 94-0-12 / U. S. GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE : 1944-O-595884.”

Printed on the reverse side of the poster are instructions for posting and distribution.
