Cecil Beall was a portrait artist and commercial illustrator known for his work in "The Saturday Evening Post," "Vanity Fair," "Cosmopolitan," and "Collier’s." His 1936 "Collier’s" cover portrait of FDR earned him an appointment as art director of the Democratic National Committee.
