"Mr. Van Dusen was the foreman of the sheet metal department of the Auburn Automobile company. Mr. Van Dusen takes the keenest pleasure in making ship models and has made and given away 120 of them. All kinds of ships from trim clippers to cumbersome Spanish galleons, sloops, ocean going steam yachts and every type of boat used in salt .water has been faithfully reproduced. Mr. Van Dusen in his younger days studied marine architecture.
