Howard William ScottAmerican, 1902 - 1983

Howard Scott had a long career in outdoor advertising as a billboard designer and graphic artist. Scott grew up in Massachusetts and studied art at Pratt Institute and the Art Students League. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and produced posters for the government. After the war Scott continued his outdoor advertising work. In 1956, he founded Verilux, Inc., which developed a full spectrum light bulb that simulates natural lighting for artists and the printing industry.
