Elliott Anderson MeansAmerican, 1904 - 1962

Elliott Means was born in Texas and worked as an itinerant sign and mural painter before studying art at the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. He eventually settled in New York City where he worked as an artist for the New Deal’s Works Progress Administration (WPA) during the 1930s.
