Haddon Hubbard Sundblom

The son of Scandinavian immigrants, Haddon Sundblom dropped out of high school to help support his family and studied art in night school and correspondence classes. At age 21 he became an apprentice at a Chicago illustration firm. Sundblom eventually established himself as a leading commercial illustrator with clients that included Coca-Cola and Maxwell House. He is best known for the Santa Claus images he created for Coca-Cola advertisements.
